State Performance Scores are a “roll up” of student scores on the LEAP, iLEAP and Graduation Exit Exam, as well as attendance and dropout rates, and graduation outcomes. State Performance Scores are calculated with the same formula as School Performance Scores, but use one year of data, as if the state is one large school.
The first State Baseline Performance Score in 1999 was 69.4. In 2011, the State Baseline Performance score was 93.9, representing an increase of more than 35 percent.
Beginning in the 2010-2011 school year, Louisiana began assigning letter grades to districts, schools and the state. Letter grades correspond to Performance Scores, and are based on the following grading scale:
